It is autumn but it feel like summer
Dear Friends,
Beginning of September and we just had time, before the visit of, first storm Daniel ( the deadliest Mediterranean tropical-like cyclone in recorded history) and then storm Elias (less strong but equally catastrophic), to organize a Feast of Tastes.
Through experiential and entertaining activities, we introduced local products and producers to the visitors of the area.
Scuba diving and seafood meal. Demonstration of meat cutting and “souvlaki” in the village square. Tasting of different honeys and pairing with cheeses and tsipouro.
We undertook the tasting of olive oil and treated the attendance to olives and olive pies. The celebration finished with a big picnic under the olive trees by the sea. We hope to be able to organize Food Fest Rovies again next year.

Immediately after, a large group from Finland tasted the olive oil at “eleonas” and got a lot of information about the area, the olive tree, the prosses of olive oil making.
Τhis year the trees have no fruit and the production of olive oil will be small. |

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded first prize (gold) for our efforts to reduce hotels waste. In this Zero Waste effort you have all helped. We and the environment thank you. |
Now that the hotel is closed, we have the cats, the dog, the chickens and the little fish as company. Now that the weather continues to be warm, geraniums are enjoying it.
