A Year Comes to an End | eleonas hotel

Dear Friends,

The days are filled with preparations, reflections, and small gift-shopping escapes as the holidays draw near.

It’s a ritual I’ve always loved — not for the gift itself, but for the meaning behind it.

For a while, my thoughts drift to the people I care about — family and friends.

I think about what would make them happy, what they might be missing, and what makes each of them unique.

Each gift becomes a small story, and I’m reminded that the most beautiful part of the holidays is the time and intention we give to the people who matter most.

The harvest in the olive grove has come to an end, and truthfully, it wasn’t a good year.

Conditions were not on our side, and the result reflects that.

But this is the nature of farming — nature moves at its own pace.

Sometimes it rewards us generously; other times, it puts us to the test.

We move forward alongside it, with patience and perseverance.

As this year comes to a close, we’d like to remember that our guesthouse celebrated 25 years of continuous operation.

We began with enthusiasm and big dreams, welcoming guests year-round.

Along the way, the financial crisis led us to adapt, closing during the winter months and adjusting to new realities.

Challenging years followed — the Covid pandemic, the fire, the floods — trials that often made us pause and reflect.

And yet, we are still here.

Next year, you’ll find us once again ready to welcome you, host you, and share with you the experience of olive oil tasting.

Don’t hesitate to share your experience and recommend us to your friends. Tell someone who would enjoy a peaceful getaway in nature to come visit us.

Share the moments you’ve lived at the “eleonas” guesthouse, and we’ll be delighted to welcome your friends with the same care.

As we mentioned in our previous newsletter, we’re a little… “old-fashioned”; we rely on your positive feedback, whether it comes through personal recommendations or online messages. Every word you share is precious to us and motivates us to continue creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.

…And something personal.

Perhaps someone might be interested in buying this Chinese secretaire along with its chair?

It decorated my parents’ home for years and carries a story with it.

My father used to keep mementos from the 1940 war there — objects full of memories and emotions.

I would be happy for it to find a new home with someone who will truly appreciate it.

Our holiday cards are ready and already on their way.

We hope they reach you before the New Year, though postal delays in Greece might slow them down.

Regardless, our thoughts are with you, and we hope our wishes find you — even a little late — bringing warmth, joy, and a smile.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!

with our warmest regards
